“The focus of the Halton Learning Foundation is to enrich the education opportunities and eliminate barriers to learning for students of the Halton District School Board. The Halton Learning Foundation would like to thank BCF for their recent grant to support a number of different literacy programs in Burlington based schools.

"The ALS Society of Ontario is grateful for the opportunity to partner with the Burlington Community Foundation on our Service Revitalization Project. The Foundation grant will help us improve and expand our services for people with ALS and their families in Burlington. We will also be able to build stronger relationships with the ALS clinic and other health centres in the area.”

The ALS Society of Ontario

The Halton Fresh Food Box program assists families in Burlington eat more fresh fruits and vegetables. As one young mother said, “My children are very happy about this box as we couldn’t afford to purchase all these fresh items”. Over 100 families in Burlington are now able to say the same thing each month due to the grant received from the Burlington Community Foundation. The grant allowed the program to expand and buy more plastic delivery boxes. The program was established to enable families to more easily access quality fresh and vegetables, many of which are locally grown, each month at a great price. The result – “a healthier, more supportive Burlington”.
