Grant Guidelines

We invite applications from charitable organizations in Burlington that work in a wide variety of fields, including health and social services, arts and culture, education, recreation and the environment.
Charities that apply for a grant must be registered and in good standing with the Canada Revenue Agency. Registered local charities can also sponsor a meaningful local cause to receive a grant from the Foundation.
Burlington Community Foundation does not make grants to:
- reduce operation or capital deficits;
- support ongoing operating costs;
- individuals (except in the case of scholarships);
- religious organizations (unless the community-at-large will significantly benefit);
- annual, general or capital fundraising campaigns; or
- promote political, religious, moral or ethical philosophies or for purposes which may be deemed discriminatory.
Requests from local chapters of organizations existing primarily to raise funds for health-related research may be considered. Please note that the proposed initiative must provide services/support for patients or caregivers, or specific health promotion initiatives within the Burlington community.
