Gift of Life Insurance, Bequests, Real Estate, and Other Assets

Gift of Life Insurance

A gift of life insurance can result in a very large gift at a modest cost. If you make the Burlington Community Foundation the owner and beneficiary of a life insurance policy, you receive a donation receipt for the policy’s cash value, as well as for any future premiums you pay.

A Bequest

A gift by Will is the simplest and most common form of deferred gift. You retain full control over your assets and your estate receives a donation receipt which may be used to reduce income taxes payable by the estate.
Estate Gifts by Will

Gift of Real Estate or Other Assets

Real estate or other assets, such as shares in privately-held companies, debentures, royalty interests or works of art, may be given to the Foundation and a donation receipt will be issued for the fair market value of the gift.
