Community Foundations

There are 165 community foundations across Canada holding nearly $3 billion in total assets, making them among the largest charities in the country. Last year, they gave out $176 million in grants to more than 17,000 agencies in a wide variety of charitable fields. We tackle problems on many fronts through grantmaking, investments, research, convening, communication and participation. We are working for a better Burlington, now and for the future.

History

The Burlington Community Foundation (BCF) is dedicated to building community vitality. The BCF manages over 55 funds and has granted over $1 million back into the Burlington community and beyond since inception in 1999.

The Burlington Community Foundation was founded by a group of dedicated volunteers who saw the importance in creating a Community Foundation in Burlington. The Hamilton Community Foundation was instrumental in assisting in the start up of the BCF and continues to provide support today.

Since it's inception the BCF has been working to build a sustainable future for our community. Our expertise lies in understanding the need in our community. We engage donors and work together with them to find the best ways to serve our community while meeting their charitable goals.
